Ready or not, it’s all happening
It's been a busy couple of weeks. Works manic, love it! Yet again too many tabs open BUT, some hugely funny moments too. Three lots of moving sheep which, when you sit at a desk all day is probably the most exciting thing you could possibly take part in!
L-Day is only 6 days away. I’m super excited! The sheds ready. The girls are ready. Boobs are growing. Foofs are growing. Bellies are growing. And the grass is finally growing. Everyone seems to be pretty ecstatic!
Proper Shepherd opened his ‘lambing shop’ doors and filled my arms with iodine, castration rings, tubes and a whole heap of other things. Not sure if he thinks I’m totally incompetent or if he’s just super kind! Probably both!
Doris and Dixie, Miriam‘s lambs are off to Dorset today. I’ll sell all of last years lambs over the next few months and a plan is afoot to bring in some new blood.

Proper Shepherd has a pen of orphan lambs and so I have decided buy four ewe lambs.
Chosing lambs this week was lush! Can I have all of them?! There are four, now marked in dayglow orange with an ‘R’. Proper Shepherd totally unimpressed with my spraying skills but I thought it was pretty artistic, kinda graffiti-like! No matter that it covers most of the lamb!

Poor old Ted had his balls chopped off last week. The vet said, you can collect him between 3pm and 4pm, unless he's noisy. 1pm my mobile rings 'Can you come and collect Ted, he's whining...'.
Deflated Ted
He loves chasing cars and when he sits in the boot he must get neck ache from spinning round to look at every single passing car. I popped him in the foot well thinking, like when Scout was spayed, he might just spark out. No chance. Straight up in the passenger seat, chasing cars with his eyes. Well, that lasted about 5 minutes and then, zonk! Head hits the window and sleeeeeep!
Trying to keep a collie quiet can be challenging but his stitches are in tact and he's doing fine. He did however eat the crutch of his onesie! Back to training with Rob in the next few weeks I hope.
Scout and I have had some truck adventures too. Love this girl more than anything. Useless with the flock, but priceless to my sanity.

So, today I need to get Doris and Dixie ready for collection, complete the paperwork, build a pen for the orphans and move the ewes over to the shed field just in case there are any issues when lambing begins. Oh, and clean the house and do a grocery shop. Having my mate Robbie living with me was heavenly, the house was ALWAYS spotless and there was always a meal on the table. Now the kitchen floor is covered in muddy dog foot prints and I live off Pieminster pies, chips and salad!
Fingers crossed, next week there will be lambs on these pages. Until then it's a waiting game...
